HWID is a fingerprint, not one serial

What the spoofer actually does
A spoofer does not turn your PC into new parts. The SSD and board stay the same. The tool answers hardware questions with different values so the fingerprint the game sees is not the one stored from before.
Session tools do this while Windows is running, then leave the real serials on the hardware. That is the usual product model. Permanent firmware rewrites are a different class of change.
